Dr. Hurt is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a PsyD earned at Wright State University’s School of Professional Psychology (Dayton, Ohio).
She specializes in Relationships, Trauma, and Identity development but works with clients on many other issues and concerns. She has worked diverse settings including community health, college counseling, neuropsychological assessment, chemical dependency clinics, military mental health, county youth services, correctional facilities, and private behavioral health group practices.
Dr. Hurt views each client, couple, or family as unique and considers their individual stories and systemic factors (family, identity, social, environmental, self-view, emotional state, physical, and cultural) when helping the client identify their problems and goals for treatment. Clients are treated from a lens that looks at emotions, solutions, and client strengths to guide treatment and always considers the client as an expert on themselves, essential to healing.
For very specific needs, Dr Hurt may utilize tools and strategies including CBT, DBT, EFT, EMDR, PCIT, TF-CBT, Gottman Principles, Mindfulness, PPP Parenting, ACT, Gestalt, and more. With a background in Neuropsych Assessment, Dr Hurt also incorporates evidence based assessments to aide in diagnosis and treatment planning.

Madison Anderson holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Madison’s passion for counseling began early in her youth with a desire to nurture those she cared for. She has since been committed to providing invaluable connections and resources to anyone who is struggling. She has a desire to facilitate the healing journey for those that are looking to understand and confront behaviors that might be creating dysfunction. Madison is passionate about helping others find their self-compassion, empathetic, and insightful voices and is devoted to emotionally meeting clients where they are at.
Madison employs a Person-Centered focus with notes of Internal Family Systems approach to her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to provide the most effective techniques in Individual, Family, Couples, and Group Therapy. Samantha completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.
She is a military spouse of over 15 years and understands the constant change and obstacles that life brings our way. Now in her second career, she is dedicated to serving others by helping them move through life feeling more prepared and empowered to navigate challenges and make meaningful changes.
Samantha’s approach involves working with individuals, couples, and families through a blend of EFT, Strengths-Based, ACT, DBT, and Solution-Focused interventions. Samantha is dedicated to learning her client’s story, pinpointing their unmet attachment needs, and deeply focused on uncovering parts that require supportive healing.
Samantha utilizes a wellness perspective that incorporates the whole self while understanding that each individual client is unique. A tailored blend of techniques will help you to identify your values, strengths, and unmet attachment needs. Samantha will help to leverage your strengths and develop the skills needed to be mindful, regulate tough emotions, effectively assert your needs, and create practical solutions to everyday challenges.
Rather than focusing on flaws and shaming of behaviors, couples and families can expect an unbiased approach towards navigating relationship issues and the actions needed to repair and grow. Balancing emotions and logic is not easy, but an important skill that takes patience and guidance. Samantha will take the time to help you understand the meaning behind your thoughts and feelings, teach you how to respond mindfully, and foster your strengths to heal and grow.

Originally hailing from California, Jacqueline brings her warm West Coast charm to our practice. With extensive experience as a Front Office Administrator, she ensures our operations run efficiently. Her background as a certified dental assistant adds valuable clinical office skills that enhance our team’s expertise. Recently, Jacqueline has expanded her skill set by completing comprehensive training as a Digital Marketing Manager, where she gained expertise in social media strategy, content creation, SEO, and online advertising. This modern edge significantly enhances our team’s capabilities. Her dual expertise in front office administration and digital marketing, combined with her dedication to community and family, makes her an invaluable asset to our team.
Jacqueline’s presence in our office also adds a touch of compassion, determination, and a commitment to service that we’re truly proud of. As a devoted mother of two, and a proud Marine wife of 15 years, Jacqueline has always placed her family at the center of her life, shares in the sacrifices and triumphs of military life, and understands those who serve and those we serve. One of her greatest passions traveling the world and helping anyone in need. No matter where the Marine Corps takes her, Jacqueline ensures she actively participates in the local community, volunteering within her church, and supporting military family functions. Kristina is proud to call Craven County home, having made the move from New Jersey two years ago. With a deep appreciation for her new community, Kristina brings warmth and a caring spirit to all her interactions.
Her journey includes a background in healthcare, where she worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide, Home Health Aide, and Chiropractor’s Assistant. Kristina has also honed her customer service skills as a Walmart customer service representative and front-end supervisor, gaining valuable experience in problem-solving and understanding others. Her most recent role as the kitchen manager at the Package Store at Cherry Point provided her with insight into military life, and she holds deep respect for the men and women who serve.
As a devoted mother to a wonderful daughter, Kristina is also looking forward to the joy of becoming a grandmother one day. In her free time, she enjoys nature walks, browsing antique stores, thrifting, and practicing yoga. Kristina firmly believes that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and treated equally, and she is dedicated to helping others thrive through understanding and compassion.

Mary was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, raised in the California Bay Area, and moved to the South to find a more "Earthy" and people-centered lifestyle. She joins us remotely from Atlanta, GA, as an Administrative Assistant in Accounting and Taxes.

of family, Mary's diverse educational background includes a BS in Sociology and Community Development (Delta State University, MS), currently working toward the EdD in Organizational Change Leadership (Grand Canyon University (AZ).
A mother of eleven children and their many progenies, Mary is a fierce advocate and activist for aspiration and achievement. She promotes lifelong education and lives by the mantra: "Life is The Great Adventure, so have faith and nurture the fierce fire within yourselves." Mary is a lifelong reader and also a 20-year entrepreneur. She owns a Business and individual Income Tax service and an Amazon and eBay store! She loves her faith, family, finding unique things, and the ocean!

Alivia is a supervised therapist at Hurt and Healing planning to graduate with her M.A in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University in May 2025.
Alivia's passion for mental health is born out of a desire to show unconditional positive regard and acceptance to everyone around her.
In addition to two years of education and clinical experience, she's completed Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT) training. Her approach is centered on the EFIT framework, but includes resources from person-centered, mindfulness, and DBT theories. Alivia professionally advocates for therapy that welcomes and integrates the worldviews and unique background everyone has. With an undergraduate in biblical theology, Alivia is familiar with the intersection between spirituality, culture, and mental health. Alivia is dedicated to advocating for and supporting survivors of medical trauma. Alivia specializes in working with individuals but also offers couples and group services.

Alysa is an intern at Hurt and Healing planning to graduate with her M.A in Marriage and Family Therapy at National University in August 2025.
Alysa’s passion for counseling is rooted in a desire to provide others with the tools to thrive and achieve beyond their desired growth. Specializing in working with couples, Alysa helps partners navigate relationship dynamics, strengthen communication, and rebuild connections. Grounded in systems theory, Alysa understands that individuals do not exist in isolation and work collaboratively to uncover patterns within relationships and environments that influence personal well-being. Utilizing a solution-focused approach combining evidence-based behavioral techniques, Alysa helps clients identify their strengths and develop practical strategies for healing and growing.
Passionate about guiding clients through life’s difficulties, Alysa is committed to helping navigate internal wounds, build resilience, and create meaningful change. She provides a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, empowered, and equipped to move forward with confidence. Danielle is a proud Long Islander and a dedicated apprentice at Hurt and Healing. She holds a BA in Applied Behavior Analysis and will complete her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and also obtain Play Therapist certification at the University of North Carolina, Pembroke in December 2025.
With 10 years of service in the Marine Corps, Danielle is now a veteran who has developed a deep passion for mental health advocacy. During her time in the service, she became deeply committed to supporting the mental and emotional well-being of others, eventually becoming an advocate for her fellow service members. This drive continues to shape her work today.
Danielle’s approach to therapy is grounded in trauma-informed care and the schema framework, blending techniques from cognitive processing therapy (CPT), mindfulness, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She is devoted to guiding others through their healing journey in a way that fosters self-awareness, personal growth, and lasting change.
She thoughtfully incorporates behavioral interventions into her care approach when beneficial and brings a compassionate skill set to working with children and teens. Danielle is also trained in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Levels One and Two, equipping her with practical tools to foster better communication and help couples strengthen their connection.
